2 BSP MLAs Koneru Konappa and Allola Indrakaran Reddy will officially join TRS

Adilabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has begun Operation Akarsh to strengthen his party like his counterpart in Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu.

A few days ago, seven MLCs from other parties had joined the TDP in the presence of Mr Naidu. It is said that chief ministers of both the states were not only competing in attracting the industrialists to invest in their respective states but also attracting MLAs and MLCs to strengthen their respective parties.

The TRS is getting strengthened further in terms of its MLA strength in the Assembly with those joining the party in addition to the MIM’s outside support to the state government.

Two BSP MLAs Koneru Konappa of Sirpur (T) and Allola Indrakaran Reddy of Nirmal will officially join the TRS along with their associates and cadre in the presence of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao at TRS Bhavan on Wednesday (June 25).

Sources say that already these two MLAs met the Chief Minister on Tuesday and got a green signal from him for officially joining the party. Mr Konappa and Mr Indrakaran Reddy had met Mr Rao long back and extended their support to the government. They even went on record saying that they will soon join the TRS. The two MLAs had decided to officially join the TRS after consulting their supporters.

TRS convener from the district west region Lokbhuma Reddy confirmed the joining of Mr Konappa and Mr Indrakaran Reddy in the party. Sources said Mudhole MLA Vittal Reddy of the Congress is also ready to extend his support to the government so that he can ensure development of his constituency. However, he will not join the TRS, to escape from the party defection law.
