Muzaffarnagar: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped here by eight youths, including her friend, who also made a video of the act and uploaded it on social networking site Facebook, police said on Tuesday.
The victim in a complaint on Tuesday said that in August last year she went for a lunch with her friend. They were intercepted by four youths near Basdhada village who took her to a secluded place, where three persons were already present, police said.
She alleged that five persons gang-raped her while three others recorded the act on a camera. The accused threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident, they said.
According to police, the victim did not register a complaint fearing that the accused would upload the video on internet. She, however, approached police after the accused published the recording on Facebook.
