Congress likely to snap ties with National Conference
Many Congress leader said that party should enter into a pre-poll alliance with PDP
Srinagar: A meeting of Congress functionaries from Jammu and Kashmir including ministers and MLAs held here on Monday to discuss issue relation to causes of the humiliating defeat in the Lok Sabha polls and future relationship with ally the National Conference.
Sources said that most of the leaders at the meeting pleaded for ending the alliance with the NC and contesting the Assembly elections on its own.
Some suggested the Congress should try to enter into a pre-poll alliance with Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) given its performance in the recently held Lok Sabha elections in which it bag-ged all the three seats of Kashmir Valley.
They were also in favour of taking small regional political groups along.
