Shortage of fuel in Telangana districts
Hyderabad: Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Khammam and Karimnagar are facing acute shortage of fuel since the last three days.
The OMCs have four fuel storage points at Charlapally, Ramagu-ndam, Suryapet and Guntakal in Telangana. However, the fuel has to be transported from Visakhapatnam via Vijaya-wada. These four points were catering to Telangana earlier.
“OMCs used to supply Telangana directly from Krishna district. After bifurcation they have decided to supply only Ramangundam depot in Telangana to avoid inter-state transport. Ramagundam depot used to supply 200 pumps in Telangana, which has now been increased to 350 pumps,” said Mr Rajender.
The minister asked the OMCs - HPCL, BPCL and IOC - to work in tandem and ensure adequate supplies to the T-districts.
