Police modernisation drive on track
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has initiated measures to modernise its police as per the plans announced by the CM on June 21.
KCR asked the traffic police to focus on regulating traffic instead of imposing fines. He directed DGP Anurag Sharma to crack down on gambling dens.
Mr Rao asked the officials to begin reforms in the city first. He said the brand image of Hyderabad police should be enhanced on par with that of NY and London cities.
They came with proposals on modernisation and new fleet of vehicles. Various new vehicle designs were submitted to Mr Rao for his suggestions.
The DGP brought to the notice of KCR that the police department has been facing severe problems due to acute shortage of vehicles.
