KCR plans to set up party units from village to state level and revamp various wings

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti, which spearheaded the Telangana movement, achieved statehood and formed the government, will soon be revamped with a long term vision. Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to strengthen the party and see that it remains in power for long.

Towards this cherished goal, Mr Rao planned to set up party units from village to the state level, provide training classes to all sections of the cadre round the year, revamp various wings including intellectuals, women’s students, youth, minorities, BCs, SCs, STs and others. He also wants to involve them in ensuring government welfare schemes reach targeted people.

Sources in the party said that though Mr Rao is heading the government he would continue to hold the reigns of the party. Though there was a talk that the party mantle be handed over K.T. Rama Rao as working president, the Chief Minister preferred articulate KTR to join the ministry and gave him the portfolios of IT and panchayat raj.

With government work ought to be heavy in the days to come, the Chief Minister is reportedly toying with the idea of decentralising powers in the party and appoint those MLAs, MLCs and other party leaders who are not in the government to oversee the party affairs.

“KCR has grand plans to strengthen the party in the days to come. He plans to galvanise the party with a long term view of 20 years. Plans are afoot to have training classes for various sections in the party for 365 days,” a senior party leader told Deccan Chronicle.

Chief Minister plans to impart political training besides education in various aspects of administration, history and culture of Telangana and other issues concerning the government welfare activities among others. Those undergoing training would get education kits.
