Prince William lands part-time job as an air ambulance pilot

Announcement about his new 40,000 pounds-a-year career will be made within days
London: Britain’s Prince William is to take on a part-time job as an air ambulance pilot and he is likely to live in a mansion on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk rather than his London home.
An announcement about his new 40,000 pounds-a-year career will be made within days ending speculation about his future role, the ‘Sunday Mirror’ reported.
The Duke of Cambridge will work in East Anglia and he is more likely to live in a mansion on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk with wife Kate and baby George than at their London home, the newspaper claimed.
The second-in-line to Britain’s throne has been under the scanner recently as it emerged that UK taxpayers have had to shell out around 4 million pounds for major refurbishment at the family’s Kensington Palace apartment in Central London.
The vast project for the 22-room home includes a new kitchen, several bathrooms and major structural improvements.
Meanwhile Anmer Hall, the couple’s new home on the Sandringham estate, has also had a 1.5 million pounds revamp.
The Queen, William’s grandmother, had decided to give him the 200-year-old Grade II listed mansion as a new father last year.
The 32-year-old prince gave up his job as a Royal Air Force (RAF) search and rescue pilot nine months ago to start a year of public service placements.
But he has decided he is not ready to move on to full-time Royal duties when this ends in September.
He had hinted at becoming an air ambulance pilot on a visit to a base in Perth in Scotland.
