Rail fare hike embarrasses Telugu Desam Party
Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam is in an embarrassing situation following the hike of railway fares, being a partner of the NDA government. Explaining TD’s stand in a press meet, Andhra Pradesh state minister Palle Raghunadha Reddy said on Saturday that the Central government might have taken the decision considering the economic condition of the railway ministry.

He said that their party MPs would raise a point over this hike, adding that the NDA government would have TD’s support as long as it takes decisions to benefit people. Commenting on the power purchase agreements (PPA), the minister said that their government will honour the PPA, accepted by the APERC and cancel those which were not accepted.
