JNTU to handle recruitment process for 2,600 posts

GHMC, along with principal secretary, will meet next week and decide on the dates for the recruitment

Hyderabad: Candidates no longer need to wait for APPSC notification to apply in the GHMC. The civic body, with the approval of the Chief Minister, will hand over the process to fill up 2,600 posts, in various cadres, to the JNTU. The university will carry out the recruitments in 2 phases for the year 2014-15.

The GHMC, along with principal secretary, will meet next week and decide on the dates for the recruitment.

As Rs 300 crore sanctioned under SC, ST sub–plan for city slums still remains unutilised, the GHMC will constitute a committee to monitor the funds.

Meanwhile, the GHMC was criticised by the members of legislative Assembly and Parliament for adopting a negligent attitude towards providing basic civic amenities schemes in the city.
