BJP asks for names for panels

The party is also expected to promote some of its state leaders to the central level

New Delhi: As the BJP-led NDA government’s current focus is on preparing the Union Budget, sources said that the likely expansion of the government and the restructuring of the BJP could take place after the Budget Session of Parliament, which is beginning next month.

While the names of many senior saffron party leaders, including Kalyan Singh, Kailash Joshi and Lalji Tandon, are doing the rounds for the post of governors, the party has also sought the names of leaders from its state units who could be accommodated in the various commissions under the Central government.

The party is also expected to promote some of its state leaders to the central level when the new party chief announces his team. The names of party general secretary J.P. Nadda and party’s UP in-charge and PM Narendra Modi’s close aide Amit Shah are being touted for the top post.
