Hyderabad: After winning the Wonder award and setting a record in 2012 by playing the keyboard for 41 minutes while skating, Sandanamaina Pranav has taken it a step further and has set a record by playing the keyboard while skating for an hour, and all this blindfolded.
While he skated, songs were played in the background and Pranav had to change his course for every song. For a few he moved in a rectangular pattern, and for other songs he had to move in the shape of the number eight, both clock-wise and anti-clockwise.
It was Pranav’s idea to skate blindfolded and he, a student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, has been practising every day for the past 18 months. To get used to it, Pranav practiced walking with his eyes closed, at home.
Talking about his experience, Pranav says, “I felt very happy to set a record.” Asked whether it was difficult, he says, “With practise everything is possible and I practised hard for 18 months.”
Pranav has been learning skating for the past two-and-a-half years and hopes to break many records in the future.
