Jagan tells Telugu Desam not to be overconfident of power
Hyderabad: AP finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu belittled the Opposition by stating that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s dream of coming to power will never materialise. The TD will sit in Treasury (ruling side) Benches in the Assembly forever, he said.
In response, Mr Jagan asked him to leave the decision making to God and people by pointing out that TD leaders were of the same opinion when his father (Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy) was in Opposition in 1999. However, after the elections, the TD had to vacate Treasury Benches and sit in the Opposition.
Thereafter, several MLAs from both the TD and the YSRC indulged in one-upmanship. Most of the MLAs have jumped from one party to another including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu who joined the TD while deserting his parent party the Congress.
YSRC MLA Jaleel Khan said this while retaliating to a comment by TD MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudhary that Khan has changed several political parties. Later, Khan went on say that TD did not have even one MLA from minority community and that the minorities will teach the party a lesson.
