AP CM Chandrababu Naidu urged to end row over PPAs
Karimnagar: Jagtial legislator T. Jeevan Reddy has urged AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to put an end to the row over cancellation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) made between different power generation companies and the government.
Addressing the media here on Friday, Mr Reddy said the request made by the AP government to cancel the PPAs was an unfortunate development and demanded that legitimate share of power should be given to Telangana.“Mr. Naidu says he cares for both states. But, he makes decisions that benefit a region,” he said.
He hoped that the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) would deny the request. He further opined that the power being consumed in Hyderabad must be excluded while sharing electricity between Telangana and AP states.
“As Hyderabad is a common capital for the two states for 10 years, the usage in the city should be excluded while allocating power supply to Telangana and AP. The city requires 2,000 MW of power,” he explained.
He said that Mr Naidu was pressurising the Centre to promulgate Ordinance to transfer seven mandals of Khammam to AP.
