Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao wants key offices at one place
Hyderabad: If Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has his way, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and Hyderabad City Police Commissioner will stay in one sprawling complex in Hyderabad!
Mr Rao is keen on the key functionaries of the state to stay in one integrated complex with house-cum-camp office either in Banjara Hills, Shaikpet or another suitable locality so that they are available at short notice to take quick decisions at crucial times.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to look for a suitable government land in city for an integrated complex.
Sources said the Chief Secretary and others agreed to the suggestion and promised to scout for the piece of land. “There are three or four places where land is available, including one in Banjara Hills, Shaikpet and other places,” a senior official told this newspaper.
Mr Rao held discussions on Thursday with Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma, DGP Anurag Sharma, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy, Cyberabad Commissioner C.V. Anand, IG Intelligence, Shivdhar Reddy and other senior police officials to improve the brand image of Hyderabad, policing and other issues.
Short term and long term plans to improve policing in twin cities, installation of more surveillance cameras, increase in patrolling by the police, improving lighting, provision of new vehicles and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
The Chief Minister asked the police officials to take every possible measure to improve policing, adopt a people friendly approach and check crime rate. Plans are also afoot to have a new centralised command.
He also assured full government support in providing the needed financial assistance to the police department, it is learnt.
