Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is leaving for New Delhi on June 26 to take up various contentious issues with the Centre regarding the bifurcation.
The major issues being withdrawal of the Polavaram Ordinance, power sharing between AP and Telangana and allotment of IAS/IPS/ IFS officers.
Mr Rao will lead an all-party delegation to press the Centre to withdraw the Polavaram Ordinance merging seven mandals of Telangana into Andhra Pradesh.
The TRS government had even moved a resolution against the Polavaram Ordinance in the Legislative Assem-bly and got it approved unanimously in the House with the support of all the Opposition parties.
Mr Rao had promised in the House that he will take an all-party delegation to New Delhi to express Telangana government’s strong objection to the Polavaram Ordinance.
Mr Rao is also upset at the inordinate delay in allotment of IAS/IPS/ IFS officers to the state. Though it has been three weeks since the TRS government took over, it could not begin administrative work on a full-scale due to lack of the allotment of officers on a permanent basis.
Only a few officers have been allotted on a provisional basis to both the AP and Telangana states and there are chances of changes in allotment when done on a permanent basis. Given this, the TRS government could not gear up the official machinery on the desired scale anticipating ensuing changes which may disrupt the smooth functioning of the government yet again.
Mr Rao is also planning to take up allotment of other state government employees on a permanent basis immediately.
Mr Rao will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urge him to inaugurate “the Telangana government administration day” after the allotment of officers and staff.
