YSRC has demanded that the Deputy Speaker’s post be given to the Opposition

Hyderabad: Senior MLA and former minister Kodela Siva Prasada Rao is likely to become the first Speaker of the AP Legislative Assembly post bifurcation. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has almost finalised his name for the Speaker’s post and that of MLA Kaluva Srinivasulu as Deputy Speaker. Nominations for the Speaker’s post has to be filed on Thursday. Elections for both the posts will be held on June 20.
The CM is pursuing the names of Kagita Venkat Rao and Bandaru Satyanara-yanamurthy for the post of chief whip. Meanwhile, the YSRC demanded that the Deputy Speaker’s post be given to the Opposition.
