Centre seeks report from Telangana government
TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy channels blocked by Telangana cable TV operators

Hyderabad: The Centre on Wednesday asked the Telangana government to submit a report over the blocking of TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy channels by cable TV operators in Telangana.
Union information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javdekar has asked Telangana chief secretary Dr Rajeev Sharma to enquire into the issue and submit a report. Both the channels took up the issue with the Centre and urged it to take steps for restoration of broadcasting of channels.
It may be noted that the cable TV operators in Telangana have halted the broadcast of both the channels since June 15 alleging that they have resorted to attack on Telangana language, dialect and culture besides insulting T-Legislative Assembly and it's members with undue comments.
Telangana Chief Minister Mr K.Chandrashekar Rao even moved a resolution in the recent Legislative Assembly session urging speaker to initiate action against TV9 for insulting T-Assembly.
Mr Rao had alleged that Andhra Jyothy newspaper has been adopting anti-Telangana stand and taking up malicious propaganda against T-government.
