Kudankulam-3 figures in India, Russia talks
Unit 2 of KNPP is likely to attain criticality by the end of the year
New Delhi: It is unclear whether any plans for India to take on lease a second nuclear-powered submarine from Russia figured in talks between the visiting Russian dignitary and Mr Jaitley.
India and Russia also held wide-ranging talks covering the entire gamut of bilateral ties covering other key sectors like trade, hydrocarbons and nuclear energy.
Both Ms Swaraj and Mr Rogozin also deliberated on cooperation in the nuclear energy sector, particularly issues relating to signing of a deal for unit 3 and 4 of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant.
The unit 1 of KNPP had attained full capacity of 1000 MW on June 7 while unit 2 is likely to attain criticality by the end of the year.
