Complete overhaul? Centre asks UPA appointees to put in papers

Centre has asked NDMA members to resign

New Delhi: Narendra Modi-led NDA government is cracking the whip on officials appointed by the UPA. In a recent development, all members of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), appointed by the previous UPA government, have been asked to resign.

The head of the National Commission for Women and the chief of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), which helps promote Indian artistes abroad have also been asked to resigned.

"Everyone has been asked to submit their resignation. Though I have not received any communication as I am out of station now, I have spoken to other members and they have confirmed this to me. I will do the needful once I reach Delhi," NDMA member and former Director General of CRPF, JK Sinha, told PTI.
