Chief Ministers not part of Aarogyasri Trust
Hyderabad: A Government Order issued on Tuesday stated that it would be impractical to accommodate the Chief Ministers and health ministers of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on the Aarogyasri Board of Trustees and hence it has been decided to include principal secretaries, director of medical education and other health and family welfare and finance officers in it.
Earlier, the Chief Minister of undivided AP was chairman of the Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust but now the GO No. 108 states that the restructuring will involve only officials of the Secretariat.
Explaining the decision, a senior officer said: “Aarogyasri is under Schedule 10 and its division will be carried out in the course of the year. There is a lot of back end works which will have to be carried out. Getting chief ministers on board now will not help and they can restructure the board once it is separated.”
