Budget session may begin from July 7

Budget Session of Parliament is likely to continue till July 31

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, in its meeting on Wednesday, discussed the upcoming Budget Session, which is likely to begin from July 7. Though the government did not announce when the Budget Session would commence, sources said that the Cabinet discussed July 7 as the possible date.

The Cabinet also gave its assent to a proposal to amend the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) Act, besides approving scrapping of empowered group of ministers and groups of ministers.

The Budget Session of Parliament is likely to continue till July 31, sources said. The PM also held a meeting with ministers for consumer affairs, food and public distribution Ram Vilas Paswan, water resources Uma Bharti, fertilisers Ananth Kumar and agriculture Radha Mohan Singh to take stock of the measures being taken to deal with the prospect of poor monsoon.
