Purulia, West Bengal: June 18 Police seized 500detonators and 600 gelatin sticks from a car in Purulia district and arrested two persons on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip off from Railway Protection Force, police intercepted the car near Tetulgram village under Kotshila police station and found the detonators and gelatin sticks inside, SP Nilkanta Sudhir Kumar said.
It was suspected that the explosives were being transported to the Maoists, he SP said adding, the two arrested persons were being interrogated.
The duo was identified as driver Subal Mahato and Jaladhar Dwari, the other occupant of the car.
