Mumbai: Given the massive success that Kahaani turned out to be, it won’t be wrong to say that director Sujoy Ghosh has played a vital role in Vidya Balan’s success story. Probably, that’s the reason why Vidya Balan was looking forward to working with her lucky mascot yet again. While she was one of the top contender’s for Sujoy’s next film, Vidya had to opt out due to health issues about her rumoured pregnancy.
She said, “It was the toughest decision of my career. Due to certain health issues I had to undergo some treatments. The process required me to be at home for a few months. It would’ve been unfair to ask Sujoy to postpone the film as his team was already in Kolkata for the pre-production. Letting go of the opportunity to work with Sujoy was heart breaking.”
But now Vidya is back in action and Sujoy’s film hasn’t started either. After Vidya’s departure, it was Kangana Ranaut who was roped in to play the lead. But that deal too fell through. Since Sujoy has been unable to find a leading lady, the spot is still open. And Vidya seems hopeful. “If there is something for me, Sujoy won’t hesitate to call me,” she says. Over to you Sujoy.
