Bheemili sea surge creates panic

The sea surged by about 10 feet

Visakhapatnam: Panic gripped residents of Bheemili on Sunday when the sea surged by about 10 feet. A few boats that were anchored by the fishermen on the coast got washed into the sea.

Locals said that while the sea was calm on Saturday night, suddenly on Sunday morning the sea surged. Locals said that that such a phenomenon usually occurs after monsoon when the river Gosthani gets flooded and meets the sea as a result of which the coast gets flooded.

However, as there has been no major rains in the region and the river has not flooded yet, the phenomenon raised a lot ofcuriosity and panic among the people.
