Truck hits vehicles, four killed and ten injured
Hyderabad: Four persons were killed and at least 10 persons injured when a truck rammed into two cars, two bikes and an autorickshaw coming in the opposite direction at Tondupally bus stop in Shamshabad of Ranga Reddy district late night on Sunday.
The accident occurred at around 9 pm, when the truck was going from Hyderabad to Bengaluru and hit the vehicles coming towards Hyderabad.
According to Mr Ramesh Naidu, DCP, Shamshabad, “The truck driver was driving rashly and lost control over the vehicle and it went off the road. He drove into the opposite direction and hit the vehicles coming in the opposite direction. It went further into the agricultural fields and stopped.
The locals who witnessed the accident called an ambulance and alerted the police. The victims were rushed to a private hospital in Shamshabad and are being treated. The condition of six of the injured is said to be critical.
Police registered a case and have started investigating. The deceased and the injured are yet to be identified.
Following the mishap, the locals staged a dharna at the spot. They alleged that though it was an accident prone area, the concerned officials had not taken any precautionary measures.
Airport road jammed
People travelling to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport had a tough time as the roads were blocked leading to severe traffic congestion.
There was traffic jam up to 8 km due to this.
