‘The Xpose’ sequel to relive the stardom of Rajesh Khanna
Mumbai: After the success of ‘The Xpose’ Himesh Reshammiya has already chalked out plan to make a sequel to the film, which will go on floors by the end of the year on December 7, 2014. The makers plan to wrap the shoot by 7th February 2015 by shooting non-stop for 50 days. The music will launch will be on 3rd April 2015 and they have already booked 29th May 2015 as their release date.
'The Xpose' which was made at a budget of Rs 9 crores plus print and advertising of Rs 6 crores garned good numbers at the box office around, 22 crore 77 Lakhs net in 3. Anil Thadani, who was the distributor of the film, is very happy with the business of the film
The sequel of ‘The Xpose’ will be set in the era of romantic superstar Rajesh Khanna when hundreds of girls committed suicide on his sudden decision to get married. But one girl from the hundreds of girls was actually murdered in the name of suicide.
Himesh’s character will take forward his character Ravi Kumar (inspired by Raaj Kumaar) by solving the mystery of the murder. The film will have 1 big hero in a special appearance that will reprise the role of superstar Rajesh Khanna. The film will also have 4 big supporting artists and 2 heroines. The announcement is likely to take place soon.
However, there is no confirmation on who will direct the film as Ananth Mahadevan, who directed the first half is having differences between HR music over his remuneration. Creative producer Rakesh Upadhay said, “ We want the movie to look very grand and huge but we don’t want to exceed the budget. Lets see if Ananth understands this or not,”
He further said, “ We are truly excited for the sequel and happy for Himesh’s dad Vipin Reshammiya, the official producer of the film, that we have given him a hit franchise.”
Himesh’s performance as an actor got a lot of appreciation from the masses and the crtics. The quirkiness in his dialogues were a highlight and the sequel will be a landmark with regards to a very big musical thriller, grand visuals, thrills and dialogues in the correct budget and explore the stunning truth of the Bollywood in 70’s.
