The most expensive tickets ever

So, how much does it take to watch your favourite stars in action?

Some 14,000 kilometres away from your television set, is a country now preparing to host the biggest soccer event on the planet. Tickets to the full course of the World Cup, 64 matches across 12 major cities are already in the $1,000-dollar mark and a final will set you back by $990, or Rs 58,000. And if you’re chasing your favourites across Brazil right from the group matches, you’re looking a number close to $3,350 or Rs 1,98,320.
If that didn’t blow your jersey off, here’s a look at some of the most expensive sports tournaments to attend, around the world.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Tickets for a single race start at $500 ('29,000). The inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race was Formula One’s first ever day-night race, which started at 17:00 local time (maybe tickets are priced so high to pay for all that electricity). But the Yas Marina Circuit is positively stunning. It has one of the longest stretches in F1 and cars can reach a top speed of 317km/h. And if that doesn’t catch your eye, there’s always the five-star hotel along the track that changes colour.

World Wrestling Entertainment

It’s not even regular sport. But fans are paying up to $2,075 or Rs 1,23,047 for ring-side seats! These seats and a very smartly-written placard tribute to your favourite wrestler can even guarantee five seconds on the television so, bragging rights are included.

At LA Lakers vs. Boston Celtics

The two teams are the India and Pakistan of basketball. In 2010, when the two met for the NBA finals, a single courtside ticket sold for $57,950. That’s Rs 34,36,435, or the sort of money you’ll make in the next 30 years. That 2010 game though was attended by a nearly a hundred Hollywood celebrities and even had Christina Aguilera
performing a song. That’s paisa vasool!
