Mumbai: The revelation shocked us all. Lovers turned foes; Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and industrialist Ness Wadia are involved in an ugly controversy with the former pressing molestation charges on her ex-beau.
Zinta, who is also co-owner of Kings XI Punjab cricket team, has filed a police complaint against Wadia, alleging that he molested, abused and threatened her inside Wankhede stadium in south Mumbai.
In a shocking twist, Wadia’s friends have now alleged that the bad blood between two former lovers was because of his having found love with another woman and moving on.
The 39-year-old actress filed the police complaint last night alleging that she was molested by Wadia (44) inside Wankhede stadium on May 30, police sources at Marine Drive Police station.
The actress and the businessman had broken their five-year long relationship sometime back.
On May 30, an IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings was played in Wankhede stadium.
She gave a written complaint following which an FIR was registered against Wadia under IPC sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), police sources added.
According to reports, Preity had been hoping to rekindle their relationship and wasn’t able to come to terms with the fact that Wadia has moved on.
Meanwhile, 44-year-old Wadia rejected Preity’s claims and said he was shocked with the allegations.
Wadia is now reportedly dating a sultry model-turned actress and claims, “Preity was jealous."
Sources in KXIP say arguments and bust-ups between the two team owners are not uncommon
On May 30 which was also Ness Wadia's birthday, he got into an ugly fight with Zinta after he found that all his reserved seats had been taken by Preity’s associates.
He had invited his mother, Maureen and relatives for the match that day but they had to wait for several minutes.
The incident infuriated Wadia who confronted Zinta and the fight escalated.
The former lovers have a 23 per cent stake each in KXIP.
Wadia had been booked under the Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and police is investigating the CCTV footage.
