Vision document for every district
Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked officials to prepare a vision document for each district. The district vision document will map out the resources available in each district and plans for developing the area with industries and other facilities. Mr Naidu had already revealed that he is redrafting Vision 2020 document.
In order to have uniform decentralised growth to prevent resistance against selection of Vijayawada-Guntur as capital Naidu has decided to focus on the development of all 13 districts. The development shall be uniform from Srikakulam to Chittoor. On Thursday, after the first Cabinet meeting, Mr Naidu revealed that he would develop three mega cities and 14 smart cities. A pilgrim corridor is also made part of the development to encourage temple tourism.
An official said,”Temples of Annavaram, Vijayawada, Mangalagiri, Tirupathi, Sri Kalahasthi, Srisailam will be transformed into a Pilgrim Corridor. Every city in Seema-Andhra will become a growth engine, creating jobs and driving development,” Vishakapatnam is expected to be developed as Shipping hub, film and IT hub. Vijayawada for Automobile industries, Guntur for Agriculture and allied industries and Tirupathi for processing of agricultural produce.
“The potential of each district will be identified and mapped out. Apart from state wide Vision 2020 document each district will have a separate vision document. In 2002 we had these plans,” said a source in TD.
