Terror infrastructure in Pakistan intact, Prime Minister told
New Delhi: Foreign secretary Sujatha Singh said, “I will like to reiterate that peace and tranquillity on the border is of the highest importan-ce in establishing the pre-condition for a peaceful and normal relationship.”
In the three-hour war-room briefing by the Army at South Block, where defence minister Arun Jaitley, Army Chief Gen. Bikram Singh, Army Vice-Chief and chief-designate Lt. Gen. Dalbir Singh Suhag, national security adviser Ajit Doval and other top security officials were present, the PM was informed that the terror infrastructure in Pakistan remains intact. Among the key issues that Mr Modi was briefed on were the terror activities being launched from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and was told that the entire terror infrastructure there was intact. The PM, sources said, was also told that there has been no let-up in terrorism and that infiltration attempts over the last few months had shown an increase.
