Andhra Pradesh to set up 14 ports, focus on power sector
Visakhapatnam: Terming AP as the sunrise state for being on the East coast and in the middle of the country, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that efforts would be taken to establish 13 to 14 ports on a war footing.
He added many industries in sectors like ferro-alloys, fertilizers etc. were ready to come up in the state.
Stating that AP was facing an acute power shortage, Mr Naidu said steps would be taken for uninterrupted 24-hour power supply to industries and households and nine hours for agriculture needs by establishing a separate load dispensing centre by connecting power generated by the new power plants that are coming up.
He further said the state government would take steps to regularly monitor prices of essential commodities and develop a price regulatory mechanism with market intervention.
