Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday named senior Backward Class leader K.E. Krishnamurthy from Kurnool district and Kapu leader Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa from East Godavari district as Deputy Chief Ministers, thereby fulfilling his election campaign promise.
Mr Naidu himself hails from Chittoor in Rayalaseema; he did a balancing act by giving Mr Krishnamurthy, also from Rayalaseema, the key revenue administration portfolio, and Mr Rajappa from coastal Andhra home affairs.
With the state needing to build a world class capital city with high industrial investments, Mr Naidu retained infrastructure, investment, industries, commerce, public enterprises, cinematography and tourism. He also kept with himself general administration, law, justice and energy portfolios.
Senior-most party leader and former Speaker Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is the new finance minister.
