Mumbai: Holiday has passed the weekdays test in a major way, with good collections coming its way on Monday as well as Tuesday. With the weekend paving the way, the film is now marching well towards the Rs 100-crore mark. In theatres across the country, it will be Akshay’s show all the way. Besides Holiday, which is running successfully, Fugly that releases today is his production as well.
“Some good word-of-mouth has done the trick for Holiday,” a filmmaker says. “It is the surprise element of seeing Akshay in a non-comic avatar that has helped. Director A.R. Murugadoss followed a no-nonsense approach, which the audience has appreciated. Now Akshay’s next film Fugly, with its youth appeal, is the only notable release this week, which is a good news once again.”
