Uttarakhand bus accident: MEA to provide assistance to Russian tourists
5 of 13 who were seriously injured had to be airlifted to Delhi from Dehradun
Mumbai: The Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday promised to provide full assistance to the Russian tourists, who largely belong to Iskon. Atleast 13 Russian nationals were killed on Tuesday as the bus ferrying them to Gangotri fell off the road and plunged into Bhagirathi River in Uttarkashi district.
The mishap occurred at Dharali, about 2 km away from Harshil, when the bus with at least 13 Russians on board, was on its way from Uttarkashi to Gangotri, police said.
The accident occurred on Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway at about 2 this afternoon. Bhagirathi is one of the tributaries of the Ganga.
