India, U.S. to reboot ties under Narendra Modi government

India-US to held high pace of engagements in the next 6 months

New Delhi: With a new government in place in India, New Delhi and Washington are all set to reboot bilateral ties and inject fresh momentum into the relationship.

With the Modi government eager to get off the block swiftly in its engagement with the US, a “high pace of engagements” is on the anvil in the next six months. These will includes the annual strategic dialogue between the two countries in August or September.

This dialogue co-chaired by the Indian external affairs minister and US secretary of state will be held ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s summit meeting with US president Barack Obama on September in Washington.

The signal to re-invigorate India-US bilateral relations to India’s foreign policy mandarins has come from both the PM and Sushma Swaraj.
