Australian man gets ill, flight to Dubai lands at RGIA

The patient was shifted to Apollo Hospital at the airport, his condition is stable now

Hyderabad: A Dubai-bound flight from Melbourne in Australia made an emergency landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad as one of the passengers had taken ill in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Australian patient, identified as 64-year-old James Robert Crowcher, complained of dizziness, nausea and chest pain. He was also suffering from high blood pressure, fever and sore throat for the past one week.

Mr Crowcher was shifted to the Apollo Hospital at the airport. His condition is stable now.

The Emirates EK407 (Melbourne-Dubai) A380 was diverted to Hyderabad at around 5 am. The flight left the airport at 5.58 am and continued on its journey with the rest of the passengers.
