The actor seems to be in awe of the Tollywood star

Hyderabad: Vivek Oberoi’s presence at prestigious political events like PM Modi’s swearing in, CM Naidu’s swearing in and other events now have many speculating whether the actor will join politics.

But in a chat with DC, the actor opens up about his plans, his connections with Pawan Kalyan and that politics is a “faraway thought”.

About CM Naidu’s swearing-in ceremony, Vivek, who was born in Hyderabad, says, “Naiduji wanted me to be present and I attended the event since we share good ties with the family.”

During the ceremony, Vivek was seen sitting next to Pawan Kalyan. All praise for the superstar, Vivek says, “He is like an elder brother to me. I met him around five-six years ago. Then, I was just a fan of his movies, but now I respect him for many other reasons.”

Explaining further he says, “During the swearing in of Naidu garu, when we spoke about Pawan anna’s political party Jana Sena, he said he was just keen on serving the people, and that there were no big political ambitions.”

“I even discussed a major blood donation camp that I was planning to organise where, in a day, 1 lakh litres of blood will be collected. He was not only impressed, but also agreed to support me. This clearly proves that he is a people’s man. In fact, I plan to come and meet Pawan anna soon,” he added.

Talking about moving into politics, Vivek denies the possibility, “I had an offer to join politics this year, but I declined it I am more of an activist. I work for change.”

Vivek had played the role of Paritala Ravi in Rakta Charitra and the actor shares an emotional bond with Paritala Ravi’s wife Sunitha, he says, “When I came to know that Sunitha akka will be sworn in as a minister, I immediately called and congratulated her. They have always been there for us and my family shares a close relationship with them.”
