Mumbai: Looks like Armaan Jain is going to have to rely on his talent (and pedigree perhaps) for his debut film.
Saif Ali Khan, who is launching Raj Kapoor’s grandson in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, has decided to strictly stay behind the camera for this one.
He has decided not to feature either himself or wife Kareena in the project.
When asked about his rumoured cameo in LHDD he said, “Kareena and I are not doing a cameo. It’s not needed as Armaan and Deeksha (the lead actress) are fantastic.”
An insider told us, “Saif and Kareena have definitely worked a lot behind the scenes to create a perfect launch for Armaan. But beyond that, Saif feels that the debutants should be able to hold the audience’s attention on their own. They shouldn’t need a star face in the film to sell it the film. He is, however, constantly overseeing how it is shaping up.”
The film is slated for a release on July 14.
