Follow the Trinamul and AIADMK Veerappa Moily tells Congress
New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister M. Veerappa Moily suggested the Congress high command to follow the Trinamul and the AIADMK in taking “drastic action” against the party officials and CMs who had failed to give results in the recently-held Lok Sabha elections.
He also wants the action to be taken “immediately”. Mr Moily, a sitting Lok Sabha member, came out with this suggestion in a write-up which appeared in the latest issue of the party mouthpiece Congress Sandesh.
He said the Congress has to understand the 21st century politics and the challenges ahead, it has to unleash a major surgery to relook at itself within the turbulent environment.
“We need to allow the fresh source of water or otherwise the party will dry up. When the regional party like the Trinamul has dismissed three ministers for having failed in their respective Lok Sabha constituencies and the AIADMK having expelled one of its minister for having soft-spoken on Mr Modi, the Congress cannot afford to brood any delay in holding people responsible both at the state and national level,” he wrote.
