Chief Minister kept buffer of 6 seats to be filled during expansion
Hyderabad: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who has inducted 19 ministers into his Cabinet, can accommodate six more ministers in the expansion expected after the Assembly Session.
Mr Naidu has kept it as a buffer to lessen the discontent among the senior MLAs. However, they are too many claimants for the six ministerial berths left in the Cabinet.
According to TD sources, senior MLAs Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao and Kalava Srinivasulu are being considered by Naidu for the Speaker post. Senior MLAs who have missed Cabinet berths will be given posts of chief whip and whips.
A source in TD said, “Leaders like Dhoolipalla Narendra, who is the chairman of Sangam Dairy, was denied a berth in the first phase as he didn’t obey the party direction on Sangam Dairy elections.”
“Caste composition has made it difficult for many of Guntur leaders to make into the Cabinet. There are already four Kammas in the Cabinet,” said a party source.
