Chennai: Karthi’s much-awaited flick, Madras, is all set for its audio launch on June 13 or 15. The makers of the film have gone to great lengths to keep Karthi’s look in the film under wraps.
The film faced a lot of confusion regarding its title. Now, director Ranjith has confirmed that the title will remain Madras.
“It’s an action drama set in the backdrop of north Madras,” he says. “It has been shot in the slums of Vyasarbadi and Perambur. Karthi plays a youngster who hails from north Madras, the film is about the journey of his life. Catherine Tresa plays his romantic interest, her character is that of an ideologically strong woman. It has shaped up well and her performance is to be appreciated.”
As for shooting in Vyasarbadi, a very crowded area, he says it was not difficult. “The people were very cooperative, and they, in fact, helped us wrap up the shoot soon. It was a great experience,” says Ranjith.
