Mumbai: Holiday was predicted to open well and take in around Rs 40 crore in its first three days. And this is exactly what happened as the A.R. Murugadoss film saw good traction from the audience, with its business gradually increasing over the days. Eventually, Rs 40 crore did come in for this Vipul Shah production and now the weekday performance is under scrutiny. With no competition in its week of release and Fugly being the only new release next, Holiday could see some good numbers by the end of its run.
Akshay Kumar has definitely gained a lot of appreciation for his role, especially from those who were longing to see him try something new. For Sonakshi Sinha too, Holiday could be yet another winner. The week’s other release, Filmistaan, received excellent reviews. Commercially though, it was overpowered by Holiday. Again, Filmistaan did see some growth over the weekend, though the numbers stayed low at Rs 2.5 crore.
