Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to visit Delhi with a wish list

Rao will seek special status for Telangana and a financial package

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will call on President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi among others on Saturday. Mr Rao is on his first visit to the national capital after becoming CM.

During his meeting with Mr Modi, Mr Rao will be seeking special status for Telangana and a financial package for Telangana apart from tax incentives on par with AP. He will restate the government’s objection to the merger of seven mandals of Khammam district with AP.

He will be also extend invitations to the Presid-ent and the PM to attend the formal Telangana State Formation Day celebrations in Hyderabad.

“We expect a positive response from the NDA government to the needs of the state,” B. Vinod Kumar, TRS MP and Politburo member, said.
