K Chandrasekhar Rao revokes suspension of 2 pro-Telangana cops
Hyderabad: Two Telangana cops, who had been suspended from duty for raising “Jai Telangana” slogans at an APNGO public meeting at LB Stadium last year, got a reprieve from Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday. The government revoked the suspensions of constables Srinivas Goud and Srisailam Mudiraj and gave them postings at the Telangana Secretariat. Both constables met the CM at the Secretariat and pleaded for revoking their suspensions.
Mr Goud and Mr Mudiraj, who were on bandobast duty on September 7, had created a flutter with their slogans, following which employees of the APNGOs and some fellow cops thrashed the two and whisked them away. The AP government then placed them under suspension. “We are ever grateful to the CM for revoking our suspensions. We were kept under suspension for eight months,” Mr Goud said.
Sources said that both the constables were being considered for civil sub-inspector promotions. This was the first major decision of the Telangana government in favour of T-agitators. Meanwhile, home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy is working on lifting cases against T-agitators and has asked the department to provide details of such pending cases.
