Hyderabad: A teenager allegedly tried to kill a 12-year-old boy at Malakpet for resisting a sodomy attempt. The accused, a 14-year-old boy from Golnaka, hit the victim with a stone on his head, and abandoned him in the bushes behind Mumtaz College at Malakpet.
The assailant later told the victim’s parents and the police that the boy was kidnapped by four unknown men while they were walking along the road. Around 10 hours after the incident, the police found the seriously injured victim and shifted him to hospital. His condition is critical.
The victim and the accused were classmates at a madrasa at Malakpet.
The police has booked a case against the accused teenager under IPC Section 307 for attempt to murder and 377 for homosexual act. Earlier, the cops had booked a case of kidnapping after the false testimony of the accused.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon and the police received a complaint from the victim’s parents in the evening. “The juvenile called the victim out of the madrasa and took him to a deserted area behind Mumtaz College. There, according to the victim, he forcibly tried to sodomise him. When the victim resisted, the accused hit him repeatedly on the head and face with a stone,” said Malakpet ACP Sudha-kar. After the incident, the accused ran back to the madrasa, where the teachers were already searching for the missing boy. The attacker’s clothes were torn in the tussle, and he appeared bewildered. “When the teachers asked him about the missing boy, he told them a kidnapping story and said that he had seen it,” the ACP said. Though there were contradictions in the version of the accused, the police and parents started a search. However on Wednesday midnight, after repeated questioning, the attacker confessed to having attacked the victim. Police went to the spot and found the victim, who was semi-conscious due to loss of blood.
The victim’s relatives said that he had been studying at the madrasa since two years. “He had not told us about such a boy or any problems at the institution,” said his uncle.
The accused was sent to juvenile court and remanded, police officials said.
