Mumbai: Ashish Sharma, who plays a stern Major Rudra Pratap Ranawat in Rangrasiya, will show the audiences his lighter side in the upcoming season of dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. “For once, they will actually see me smile,” says Ashish adding, “I have been doing action roles for a while and really wanted to explore the other side of my personality on screen. However, I am not a trained dancer and the only time I danced in public was as a child, at birthday parties.”
We ask the actor how has he been juggling between the two shows. “It’s hectic, but since both the shows are on the same channel, the respective teams have been co-coordinating over my timings. I am not very stressed on that front,” he says. This season of Jhalak has some professional dancers participating in the show. Does that worry him? He says, “The format of the show is not just about competition. It’s about one’s growth as a dancer. I’m just focusing on improving my dance.”
Ashish is most excited about performing Broadway style. Meanwhile coming to his daily soap Rangrasiya, the audience has been waiting to see the romantic track between Rudra and Paro (Sanaya Irani). Ashish assures us that they won’t have to wait too long. “Yes I have been getting messages and the romance will surely begin soon.”
