Lucknow: A 15-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Misrikh in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, late on Tuesday night.
The father of the deceased has alleged that his daughter was raped and then hanged to death.
Police said that the girl had gone to relieve herself in the fields in Benipur Majra Sarsai but never returned. Her body was later spotted hanging from a tree a few hundred metres from her house.
Six persons, including a neighbor and his three sons have been booked on a complaint filed by the the victim’s father. He alleged that one Ramesh from the same village often har-assed his
daughter and had even threatened the girl when she said she would inform her family his behavior.
Police said that they are waiting for the reports of medical examination and post mortem. The accused, are absconding
This is second such incident after the double rape and murder of two minor girls in Badaun, last week.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a 15-year-old girl was raped at gun-point by a youth in Firozepur village in Sambhal district on Wednesday.
Police said that the victim was working near an agricultural field when a youth named Kasim of the same village raped her at gun point.
A case has been registered against the accused who is absconding while the girl has been sent for medical examination.
