Sensex hits 25,000 in trade, ends at record closing high
Nifty also gains 0.97 per cent to 7,474.10
Mumbai: The BSE Sensex and Nifty surged to a fresh closing high on Thursday on gains in resources stocks such as Sesa Sterlite due to continued optimism about a revival in the domestic economy.
The benchmark BSE Sensex provisionally closed 0.86 per cent higher at 25,019.51, surpassing the earlier record set on Tuesday.The broader Nifty gained 0.97 per cent to 7,474.10, breaching Tuesday's record.
Sesa Sterlite Ltd provisionally gained 6.7 per cent.
