Lucknow: In a bizarre incident, a young man sliced off his head as an offering at the Ahorwa temple in Shivratanganj in Amethi on Monday.
According to reports, Arvind Kumar, 24, went to the temple on Monday evening and sliced his neck with a knife. He fell down in a pool of blood and wriggled for a few seconds before his body turned limp.
Other devotees in the temple began screaming on seeing the youth and the police was informed.
Arvind was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police sources said that Arvind was upset because his wife had gone to her parents’ home and had not returned for several months. She had complained against her husband to the police.
