Never approached a girl because I’m scared of rejection: Tiger Shroff
With Heropanti triumphing at the box office, Tiger Shroff is a happy debutant indeed
Mumbai: The success of his debut film Heropanti has made him a newcomer to watch out for. Even prior to its release the film and its leading man had generated a lot of buzz. The success of the film only sealed the deal for Tiger Shroff who is being approached by several top filmmakers in the industry. Some critics may have panned the actor, but as far as box office figures are concerned, Tiger is sure having the last laugh.
The actor says, “I’m not used to so much attention but I’m loving it. Interacting with fans, dancing with them, getting showered with compliments — It’s a nice feeling.” Being Jackie Shroff’s son, there were a lot of expectations riding on him. Tiger says, “Yes, there were a lot of expectations as my father is a big star. He is my inspiration but the aim was to outperform my father,” Tiger says. Ask him what’s the most valuable advice he has got from his father and Tiger says, “He always reminds me to listen more than I speak.”
His father being one of the most popular stars of his time, Tiger grew up with famous people dropping in at his house frequently. But when asked to pick his favourite guest, he says, “Danny (Denzongpa) and Ranjeet uncle have always been my favourites. Danny uncle is like a second father to me and I am extremely close to their children.”
For Tiger, it was interesting to see his parents’ reaction to his debut film. “My mother couldn’t recognise me — my parents have never seen this side of me. I have always been shy. In fact I haven’t approached any girl I like because I am scared of rejection. And here I was in the film doing action and romance scenes,” he says with a smile.
Ask him if he would like to feature in the remakes of any of his father’s films, and Tiger says, “Among dad’s films that I would love to do is Par inda and Shiva Ka Insaaf.” He adds, “But the film I really want to star in — is Spiderman.”
